This is an Adobe Photoshop 2020 tutorial showing you how to 3D print a logo by creating the file, changing units, converting to 3D and printing it. Click on an image to view the full-size version. Free source files included and all layers in the Photoshop PSD file are fully editable.
1. Create File
Open PSD file.
In Menu Bar, File > Save As… > Save As: 3d-printed-logo.psd > click Save.
2. Change Units
Right-click on ruler.
Inches.
3. Convert To 3D
In Layers panel, rename layer to Logo. In Menu Bar, 3D > New 3D Extrusion from Selected Layer > click Yes.
In 3D panel, select Scene > in Properties panel, click 3D Print Settings icon > Print To: Shapeways, Printer: Plastic - White, Strong & Flexible, Detail Level: High, Scene Volume X: 2.
In 3D panel, select Logo > in Properties panel, click Deform icon > Extrusion Depth: 0.125 in.
Click Coordinates icon > Rotation X: 90° > click Move To Ground.
4. 3D Print
In Menu Bar, 3D > 3D Print… > click OK.
Export > click Save > click Yes (goes to Shapeways website).
In Photoshop, File > Save. File > Close. On Shapeways, click UPLOAD and create your 3D print.
