Renee Overholtzer from Montgomery County Wine Trail in Montgomery County, PA needed a new winery website. The trail features more than 30 varieties of wine, including Reserve Reds, French Hybrid Whites, 100% Fruit Wines (no added flavors), Meads (Honey Wines), ciders, dessert wines and also amazing Port wines. I used cardinal red to match my clients other website Cardinal Hollow Winery. The display font is Rancho by Sideshow, a comfortable brush script typeface that works just as well in a winery, barn or country club. The body font is Source Sans Pro by Paul D. Hunt, a sans-serif typeface intended to work well in user interfaces.
With simplicity in mind, I decided to go with a single-page design. I used 2 huge wine images that rotate with taglines and descriptions.
I added an overly menu that displays their email, phone and address.
And of cource, I embedded a super big interactive Google map displaying all of the wineries and their locations.
I then featured all of the wineries with their info in a rotating slideshow. I also added the about text underneath.
I ended by placing the trail history, events and happenings.
To wrap things up, I tested the website on all devices to make sure everything looked great and functioned properly.
Renee was super happy with the classy and modern look of the website. The Montgomery Wine Trail site continues to gain organic Google traffic and get new customers for the wineries. I continue to maintain the website, coding, hosting, graphics and organic Google search rankings while providing light updates when needed. Montgomery Wine Trail ranks #1 in Google for montgomery county wineries.
